Sermorelin (GRF 1-29) is a synthetic peptide analogue of the naturally occurring Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH). It corresponds to the amino-terminal segment (first 29 amino acids) of the endogenous 44-amino acid GHRH hormone. Preclinical research identifies Sermorelin as a potent growth hormone secretagogue that stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete Growth Hormone (GH) in a pulsatile manner, mimicking physiological rhythms. Unlike HGH administration which bypasses the feedback loop, Sermorelin is investigated for its ability to preserve the hypothalamic-pituitary-somatotropic axis.
Research applications include:
-
• Investigation of GHRH receptor binding and signalling pathways
• Study of hypothalamic–pituitary axis regulation
• In vitro comparison of truncated versus full-length GHRH peptides
• Use as a reference compound in neuroendocrine and peptide signalling research
